Day 249 NaNoWriMo Dragon Tear
Excerpt from So Says The River
Grandpa’s Amulet: A Dragon Tear
The red dragon dipped its head so its eyes could stare directly down on me.
“I leave you with this should the time arise when the seed has grown beyond your control and your folk find a need to call on this, the other world.”
From the eye of the dragon dripped one tear onto the boulder, which formed a teardrop-shaped light blue stone.
The fairy on my shoulder swooped down and lifted the tear-stone, almost as big as she. She flew up to my pouch and pushed the stone inside before flying off to land on the top of the dragon’s right eye, and as she did, the dragon pulled it’s wings closer to it’s body, pushed its hind legs down into the the pond, and slid in an instant below the surface, gone.
