Day 220 Brush Stamps

Yesterday I started another Skillshare class with Jennifer Nichols on how to create stamp brushes.

For the mug above I created four stamps: mug, handle, marshmallows, snow crystal. I stamped the mug, handle, and marshmallows into my iPad canvas, and traced over them to create the mug– adding the color and shading. I then added a clipping mask to the now colored mug and stamped in the crystals, arranging them as needed.

I then wondered if I could create a black cat with ears and eyes showing, a bat, and a pumpkin. The #doodleinstitute prompt today was cat, so adapting the lesson for that was a good trick to try. 🙂 These are created with shades of gray [bat is all black]. I made the stamps, and then created this mug, using a different handle. I think the mug is pretty cute, don’t you think?

To learn about this, you can sign up at the link for a free trial and try out some classes. It’s a lot of fun.

Sorry I missed WriteOut today, and although I’ve been creating my art challenges, I’ve not posted here. You can see them here on my Instagram: 42Sheri. Hope to see you there!
